THIS WEEK

29th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year C) WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

"Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."

Feast Days:

sample.jpg World Mission Sunday is globally observed this Sunday 20th October. Today, in the midst of this Extraordinary Missionary Month celebration, you have the opportunity to support the children at the Eden Gardens Children’s Home. Please note that the loose money in our collections will be for the Missions. Mission Envelopes are also available at the Church should you wish to take one and return it next weekend

Mass with the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick in association with the Feast of St Luke-patron of physicians will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Church Berry on Tuesday October22nd, 10.30am. Please bring a plate for a light lunch. The Incarnate Christ does not give us ready answers as to the mystery and the burdens of illness and suffering. But He does in fact immerse Himself in our condition and share our sufferings. As a Sacramental Church we believe that this same compassionate Jesus moves among us. That certainly is the belief in regard to the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sick. The Christ who brings healing and consolation, courage, re-assurance and resignation.

ALPHA – Alpha is an opportunity to take some time out from our busy everyday lives and ponder the big questions about life, faith and meaning in a friendly and inclusive environment. Grab a friend and come along for a meal, a talk and a chance to have a chat and share your thoughts and ideas on the topics. To help with catering, let us know if you can come by calling the Parish office on 44231712 or This email address is being protected from spambots. The title of the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Social Justice Statement for 2019–2020 is Making it Real: Genuine human encounter in our digital world. This is a very readable statement and lends itself to good family conversation. Pope Francis is calling us to ‘boldly become citizens of the digital world’ and the statement provides ten steps we can take towards making our online presence one that fosters genuine human encounter. Click here to download Social Justice Brochure

People with Coeliac are advised there is a suitable Communion Host available for them in our churches. The host is placed in a pyx on the altar for consecration and is kept separate from regular hosts in the ciborium at the time of distribution. Fr Pat and Fr Duane have been consecrating these hosts for Coeliacs for the last few years. All you need to do is tell Father before Mass and he will see that your host is available for you to receive. If you would like more information, please contact Patricia Bourke 0433 509 636.

Can we really make a difference? Yes! Catechists make a lasting difference in the lives of the young people that they teach.

There has never been a more critical time to engage in the faith formation of our young people.

If you can give 1 hour of your time per week to teach or help out in a classroom, please speak to Frances: 0413539370.

Please help make the Good News of known in our community by helping another catechist or taking a class at Bomaderry, Nowra East or Shoalhaven Head Public Schools.
