Helping in the corporate worship, the source and summit of the Christian life, are a whole range of disciples - from servers and readers, to ministers of holy communion, musicians and greeters, to those who help prepare children and adults for baptism and reception into the Church.Acolytes

Meetings: Occasional training days are run in the Diocese.

Altar Servers
Description: Children in year 5 and above who assist the priest at Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Description: Adults who assist with the distribution of communion during Mass, and take communion to the sick.

Greeters
Description: Greeters meet church goers as they enter the church for mass.

Music / Liturgy Group
Description: To co-ordinate liturgy and music for the celebration of Mass and other religious ceremonies.
Meetings: As required.

Readers
Description: Parishioners proclaim the Word of God during the celebration of the Sunday and weekday Mass.

Children’s Liturgy, Vincentia
Description: Faith lessons are given to children during the 9.30am Sunday Mass fortnightly.
Member Details:Anyone is invited to express an interest in teaching. Teachers are required to complete prohibited employment checks. There is a rostersystem for teachers.

St Patrick’s Liturgy Group, Berry
Description: This group co-ordinates liturgy, eg Holy Week, Easter, Advent; conducts faith building seminars, eg CaFÉ, film nights; and compiles reader rosters. The group also incorporates the church choir.
Meetings: Approximately 6 meetings per year at St Patrick’s Hall, Berry. Meetings are held at a time to suit group members.
Member details: Organist. Core group of members. Others join in for special events, eg Holy week and Easter ceremonies.
Additional information: Choir practices new hymns after Mass on Tuesdays, as required.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Description: A process through which unbaptised men and women enter the Catholic Church. Participants undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
Meetings: A schedule of meetings is arranged in consultation with the Parish Priest.
Member Details: Any interested person.
Additional Details:The RCIA process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the whole community, in which new Catholics embark on a journey and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion into faith and discipleship.
