Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is one of the seven Sacraments instituted by God and administered by His Church. It is the first Sacrament we receive and is the celebration of giving new life in Christ and becoming a member of God’s family, the Church. 

As parents, we accept the responsibility of guiding our children in the life and practice of the Catholic faith, to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and neighbour through word and example.

Baptisms are celebrated in St Michael's Parish on the First and Third Sunday of the month at 11:00am following the Sunday Mass. 

  • One Godparent must be a confirmed Catholic and be over 16 years. 

Although Baptisms are free, it is a usual custom to offer the priest a donation for his time and service, give what you can afford. You can give your donation via direct deposit, using your child's name as the reference. The bank account details are:
