The Marriage Debate? The likelihood is that you did not hear any mention in the News Media that approximately 10,000 people turned up in Western Sydney on Sunday last to celebrate marriage and family? There has been a disturbing bias in the presentation of the Marriage Question as well as intimidating and labelling as bigoted those who affirm and support the natural and traditional understanding of marriage.

St Michael's Conference of St Vincent de Paul would be grateful to continue to receive any tip vouchers you don't need.

Catholic Mission World Mission Appeal Sunday next is World Mission Sunday, when we are invited to prayerfully and financially support the missionary Church in approximately 160 countries. This year we are invited to share our support for the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Nha Trang, Vietnam as they work tirelessly to provide critical community resources such as clean drinking water and medical care to the country’s millions of forgotten farming families, living in the coastal mountain regions. Please come prepared next weekend. All loose money in our Second Collection will be for the Missions on Sunday next; there are also Mission Envelopes available at the Church doors should you wish to take one and return it on Sunday next.

Pope Francis Marriage and the Plebiscite Brochure - The Pope Francis, Marriage and the Plebiscite brochure was launched online last Wednesday. The Facebook post launching the brochure has reached over 50,000 people and has 1600 likes and 370 shares. The overall response to the brochure has been overwhelmingly positive. The document is available in the Resources section of our website.

Social Justice Statement – Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience exclusion – from policy negotiations that affect their people and land, from a fair share of national prosperity, and often through being typecast as a burden on the broader community. We are called to support our Indigenous sisters and brothers in the pursuit of national recognition, reconciliation and social justice. http://dow.sh/socialjustice2017

Take a Risk and Give the Gift of Faith - In our parish, there is a team of volunteers that take a risk and step out in faith. State Government schools do not provide lessons that teach the basic message about Jesus, our faith and the great adventure that life can be with God. We were all given our gift of faith by someone, someone stepped-up for us so that we would know Jesus. Each week of the school year Catechists present 30-minute lessons using a step-by-step lesson plan that helps Catholic children understand their faith, grow in love and maturity and learn what it means to be Catholic. Take a risk and give the gift of faith. Become a Catechist teacher or helper today!  For more information, please call 4423 1712 or ask our parish priest for more information.

Craft-Tea Characters - Clean and useable knitting, crocheting, sewing and general craft materials are gratefully accepted. Don’t forget you are welcome to join us on a Wednesday 9:30ish-12:00ish. Making connections through craft, cuppas and company. Pop in or contact Louise 0438218728.

Rosters for St Michael’s are available in the church foyers for collection.
