The Events which we Liturgically celebrate during Holy Week and Easter we believe took place historically, at a definite time and place in human history. Those events which we refer to as the Paschal Mystery are the very context and source of the Sacramental and Liturgical life of our Church. The Liturgy of Holy Week is not dramatized history, it is the saving Action of Christ and His Church, culminating in one celebration called the Triduum- the Three Sacred Days.

The Good Friday Collection - is to support, in several ways, the decreasing number of Christians in the Holy Land, who are enduring great hardship and is also used to maintain more than 70 churches and shrines associated with the life of Jesus in the Mid-East.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND PRAYER FROM BISHOP BRIAN MASCORD’S 2018 LENTEN MESSAGE - ‘I would like to recognise and express my gratitude to all those who came forward and courageously spoke their truth to the Royal Commission. They have given the Church a significant opportunity to reflect on how we are called to be the face of God in our world today. They have been the voice of the Spirit challenging us to be real and authentic in who we are as God’s people. Whilst it has been a difficult time for all, nothing compares to the courage of victims and survivors in coming forth and speaking truth—a truth that calls for action on the part of everyone.’

“ALPHA”: Mondays from April 30th at 6:30pm at St Michael’s school hall. Alpha is a series of interactive sessions open to anyone who wants to come and freely explore deeper questions about life and what Christianity has to offer. We share a meal, watch a video and have a chat in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Over 27 million people around the world have explored the big questions of life on Alpha. Who among your family, friends, workmates, and others may you invite along? Would you like to experience it for yourself? Would you be willing to help with catering? See sign up sheets in Church foyers or call the Parish office on 44231712. Please pray for Alpha!

Thank You to those who attended Mother Ruth SF Theatre Gala and to a number of very generous supporters who donated money to the Fund. We have raised three quarters of the money needed for next year - $3,315. A fantastic effort by all. A special thank you to the cooks who contributed to the magnificent supper. Denise Jones.

Youth Group for young people from Year 5 to Year 8 - Sunday 25 March (Palm Sunday), drop off and sign in at St Michael’s school hall 4pm, leading in to 6pm Youth Mass at the Church. The first Youth Group last month was a great success! About 25 young people came along, all felt welcomed and included, enjoyed games, activities, pizza, and music, and reflected on the Sunday Gospel together. They then stayed for the Youth Mass where young people helped in various ways. This will now happen every month, thanks to the Parish Youth Team. If you’d like more info or would like to support this new initiative, please contact the Parish Office.

Project Compassion material is now available at all churches in our parish. We encourage parishioners to support this worthy and well proven aspect of our Lenten observance.

Our Parish History: A Faithful People’ @ $10.00 Copies available at the Churches.

St Michael’s Playgroup - Runs each Monday during the school term from 9:00am–10:30am in foyer of St Michael's School Hall. Parents, grandparents, carers, all welcome! Please bring your child’s snacks & gold coin donation.

Let your light Shine!
Catechists ensure that children hear of God’s love for them. Can you give 1 hour of your time per week to teach or help out in a classroom? Please speak to Frances Fairs, or another Catechist if you would like to get involved.

Craft-Tea Characters - Clean and useable knitting, crocheting, sewing and general craft materials are gratefully accepted. Don’t forget you are welcome to join us on a Wednesday 9:30ish-12:00ish. Making connections through craft, cuppas and company. Pop in or contact Louise 0438218728.

SOCIAL JUSTICE FOOD FOR THOUGHT We rarely have anything positive to say about our political leaders, yet political engagement and public life is regarded by the Church as an important expression of authentic Christianity in our world. Remember to pray for our leaders and consider how you can contribute to political processes and public life as a disciple. ‘For the lay faithful, political involvement is a worthy and demanding expression of the Christian commitment of service to others.’ (Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, n. 565)
